It was such a nice day today we just couldn't resist standing up this Cool Vico sign we recentely purchased. I may have mentioned before that VICO Oil was the Oil produced by the Utah Oil Refining Company which is the oldest Company in Utah. It was formed in 1908 in Salt Lake City and the refinery produced Vico Oil and Pep 88 gas. This is the only known 6' VICO sign and while its a bit rough it still looks pretty good on a pole. We got this sign from a Collector in Salt Lake who got it from another Collector in Salt Lake who got it from another collector in Bountiful who got it from some old guys that weren't collectors but bought it from an Antique store somewhere in Utah. Whew!!!! Of course all that buying and trading took about 13-15 yrs until we finally got it a short while ago. Yep! The price went up substantially every time it changed hands. As you can see the sign is clearly posted so it can be seen right as you drive down the Center street of Provo Utah at aaaLakeside Storage. Come on by and give us a visit.
Never heard of it so it must be a great find!
That is very cool!! I can still remember watching my father gas up his truck with a gas pump very similar to the one you have pictured here.
