This was a gift from a very nice "little old lady". She had no children and I had done work for her for many years. She assumed I was still married and gave this to me to give to my wife. Of course with no wife, it ended up mine. She bought this in England in an antique shop while she was there waiting on her husband to come home from the 2nd world war. He unfortunately was killed when Adolf Hitler launched his last major offensive of the war. Better known as "The Battle of the Bulge". She also gave me several of his rings she had kept for all those years. This along with the other pieces she gave me in the mid 1990's. She was a very elegant lady of the highest degree.
