Does the stone change color at all? If it's Alexandrite it will change under different light conditions such as sunlight, florescent and incandescent. If it doesn't, it's most likely amethyst.
ya know.. I haven't a clue. But that info you just shared has taught me something. Thank you very much.
You're very welcome. Test the ring.... all ya gotta do is look at it when you're inside your house.... then go look at it when you're outside. You'll see the difference if there is one.
Thank you. I'll do that. I'll let you know the results. That is as soon as I can find some free time during the day. lol
Always have loved the amethyst stones.
Thanks for looking and for liking, and thanks for the comment.
This stone in this pic looks to me like a type of Garnet stone. Garnet is my birthstone and I have a ring of that hue. Garnets range in color, not just simple dark red. Beautiful rings you have shown on this site! I have a couple that were my grandmother's from the 40's and I cherish them! Bought an old 1940's set at a pawn shop as the ring sparkled at me from way across the room! 3/4 carat diamond engagement ring it turned out to be! love it!
