This is a trunk I picked up at an auction in Wisconsin. I don't know anything about it. With the top closed the trunk is 8 1/2 inches high, 14 inches long, and 8 inches wide. If anyone could give me any information on it I would be grateful . would like to know the age, the maker, anything you know. Thank you

Your trunk is a Toy Trunk made for children. Yours is probably from the early 1900's.

hey thank you very much jim. i appreciate the info. when i purchased it it had absolutely no marking on it whatsoever. so i was thinking it may also be handmade but i dont know.
Your welcome. Many if not most of the trunk makers did not put makers labels in their trunks. This was probably due to that fact that many of them sold wholesale to dept. stores, wholesalers, luggage retailers, etc.
