On the base of each vase is etched the words IMPORTÉ DE BELGIQUE and that's all I know for sure. The outside is smooth but the inside is a succession of flat 'sections'. The height and diameter are the same but their weights are different. So if they were blown into a mould I can't work out how they shaped the inside into flat sections!! There's a lot of wear to the base but as to age I'd only be guessing. They were bought in France.

They share a window sill with the little bowl I posted earlier.....the glass is just the same colour!

Smoke grey color was fashionable in 1920's. They can be newer also, but i like them.

      I missed these Peggy.
When I first looked I thought they were bud vases because of the shape and colour....but they are biggish! Interesting about the interior.....I wonder if somehow the gather was impressed with a dolly before blowing into the mould? We need a glass blowing expert here....
They look a bit light in the base for flowers but I can see some lovely spring blooms looking good in these. Purple is my favorite colour you know (then green, blue, orange, red, blah blah).

Glad you like them Vintage_Joe. They're purple actually, and look purple on my screen....also see racer's post.....thought you might like to know:-)

Hi Karen, you know me.....no kind of expert.....at least you do have a starting point! They're far too flimsy for actual flowers but majestic. The bases don't look like moulded bases.....they're dished but on one the lowest point is VERY off centre.....looks like handwork. The rim looks 'rolled' like the edging on hand sewn silk scarves. Beats me....
