Hi Mike,
I'm a professional Organizer in the Chicago land area. A few years back we helped an elderly lady clear the clutter of some her things. We sold some on ebay and flea markets, etc. but this item we could never figure out what it was. I think it might have something to do with an antique microphone. The back has threads in the hole and when you tap on the front of it, it has a hallow almost echo sound. Any clue?
