Imperial Glass began making their carnival glass versions of the Windmill pattern in 1912. This slag glass piece has the superimposed IG mark located inside bottom indicating it was made after 1951. Imperial reissued this pattern in various colors from the time of initial production until closing shop around 1984. The pattern includes a windmill scene in two panels and a fishing scene in one panel. This is the smaller version, which is 6-1/2" to top of ice lip by 4" wide
    OMN: #514 Windmill

TallCakes, I just acquired a Mosser hen on a nest with this coloration. On Kovel's it says that the color is properly called chocolate slag, even though it looks more caramel than chocolate to me. I thought of this pitcher and came to see if I remembered it correctly. :)

Without an old Mosser catalog I can't say what their official color name may have been. Caramel and chocolate slag can be similar. I think of caramel as being translucent caramel color with opaque white. Whereas chocolate is opaque chocolate color (various degrees of color intensity) with opaque white.

The article implies this term is incorrect in all cases, but I could be misunderstanding.:

Oh, and did you see my glass ID ask thread that I posted today? I know that you won't comment if you can't help, just wanted to know if you didn't miss it. :)

My thought is to go by the name assigned by the maker if known. And some do use the terms of caramel, butterscotch and/or chocolate. Kovels' editors are entitled to their opinions... I didn't recognize those pieces of your right off; but where are you located?

      SoCal. :)

I want to eat your pitcher. :))
