Just purchased this beauty. She is a likeness of Sally Rand the famous "Fan Dancer." "Fan Dancer" is etched into the base. The name of the initial owner is written on the bottom and I found some photos of her on Ancestry.com.
Sally Rand caused a sensation whenever she performed her famous "fan dance" at the Chicago World's Fair of 1934.

I could figure the lineup at the cabaret where such attractive lady will dance, ho ho.
Probebly some gentleman in the first row, wish she will drop this Ostrich feather at any moment...:(
      Great item again vintagelamp

Alan, Thank you! I love her also, though other members of my family question my sanity regarding this one.

Vintage, plane parts are here finally & a lot of other things happening also. Have you missed me? Correct answers are, "Not yet", or, "How can I miss you if you won't go away". Ditto Alan on the feather!

LOL , you are something bb2
Of coarse I will not fit on this feather ;)
    14. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Alan, I was meaning about waiting for the feather to drop. It's probably stuck there by now! LOL!!
    15. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
OK eye4, for both to drop. Picky picky! LOL. Why are they there in the 1st place?
    16. vintagelamp vintagelamp, 9 years ago
      They are stuck for eternity...

      Blunder
I will pick "How can I miss you if you won't go away." I really like that one!!!

      Who is Sally Rand?
    21. vintagelamp vintagelamp, 9 years ago
The Fan Dancer (pictured) Chicago World's Fair. There are clips of it on youtube. I think that she also rode on a horse down the street like Lady Godiva and people at the time thought that she was naked. She was arrested a few times.

Youtube, here we come!!! We are going out shooting the blunderbusses & Browning tomorrow. I was tiring of harassing tourists, so thought I would stay home & take aim at you & other friends on CW. Call it "drive-by comments" unless you can come up with a better name.
    23. vintagelamp vintagelamp, 9 years ago
That is what we love about you blunder...you are a straight shooter!!!!
    24. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Ck'd her out and it rang a dim bell. Really great choreography, timing & coordination! I was very impressed. Guess "jumping her bones" today would mean that literally! Does this come under "drive-by comments"? LOL!!

blunder...LOL! You are going to get into trouble again....
Glad you know who Sally is now. This is an educational site!

Wonder if CW has what they call "felonies". Better yet. is there a Statute de Limitations"? After that poste of mine they deleted several yrs ago in 7-8 mins, I figured that "it ain't easy" to get banned. Have been warned a few times though. It was a good one & if you want to see it, my email is on my profile. Not one person even tried to ID the bottle in question in the poste! LOL!! CW staff may even have a "wanted" or "endangered species" poster on their cubical walls. LOL!
