      I have seen these on metal detecting sites that were found in various places. Everyone seemed to agree they were not actual chips but a souvenir type token. They also seem to agree they are collectable. New ones like this are made in China from everything from brass and copper to gold and silver. New die cast enameled ones run from .50 to $3 each in lots of 100. I would assume this might be worth researching if it is older.
