Hi Any ideas what this is. On the back it says no 2, so there must be different sizes of the tube. Why the sharp needle with a tube that runs parallel to the tube. At the top of the tube there is a hole. To release a liquid?

Looks like a punch needle. I assume thread/yarn ran through the hole. Is there a hole in the needle at all? Does either part move?

There is no hole in the needle, but there is a hole going all the way through the tube. But why would there be a sharp needle running parallel to the sharp "tube"

In some rug making the idea is to push the fiber through the fabric so the fiber is laid on top of the fabric and the needle just pushed it through. But it's not normally a tube, per se.

Is it a plastic or metal tube? Flexible or no? Sharp like the needle?

My other ideas were old tattoo machine (but it's not) or medical instrument (to clean teeth - either with a water sprayer or a mini vacuum - or something), but nothing popped up on those fronts.

Does the tube go all the way through the handle ? There appears to be a hole at the top of the tube right before the handle but there's something sticking out the backside. Where did you find this? Notice anything about what it was with? Nothing on it moves, right?

I really don't know. Usually I'm pretty good at matching structures with functions, but without being about to handle this (or perhaps not having the right background), this one alludes me.

The tube is thin metal, looks like brass. The tip is fairly sharp and it is very hard. The tube continues until the handle starts, but doesn't continue into the handle. There is a small hole at the end of the tube. On the back of the handle there is a small brass inscription that says Nr 2 which seems to indicate it is some sort of tool which is available in different sizes. I can imagine a connection to swing, leather or rug making??? Is the tube to put the thread in and it goes out at the end of the tube through the hole?
      Thanks for your ideas

Honestly, I'm hoping someone else jumps in on this. At first I thought the piece coming out the back would hold a spool of thread, but the more I think about how the needle is designed - with something going down through the center...and the second needle right next to it... I'm pretty sure it's not medical (that wood would be hard to sterilize), but otherwise, I'm stumped. I can find nothing that has this format (in arts/crafts, kitchenry, oiling needles, etc). Fingers crossed that someone can put together the info you offered into a more meaningful guess.
