this is a set of fenton wisteria and violet opalescent. the pieces can range in color from a dark cobalt blue color to a soft purple. this ranks as one of the hardest colors to find in the fenton hobnail pattern. the cruet on the right is very rare! A mini vase similar to the one in the middle of the pic directly behind the bonbon sold recently on ebay for over $300. hope you all enjoy! thanks

Hi there! Love your collection!! I too collect Fenton Hobnail! It's kinda neat to see that someone appreciates the Hobnail pattern just as much as I do. I do, however, regret to inform you that Fenton never made these colors. Those were all Clear Opalescent Hobnail pieces at one point in history. I would like you to read this article about "Sun Purple" glass and how antique dealers will leave these beautiful pieces of history in the sun to turn them shades of purple to then lie to you and sell them to you for an outrageous price!!! Enjoy! Love the pics!

Please ignore the comments saying that Fenton never made this color. They, in fact, made wisteria opalescent hobnail in 1944 for Sherwin Williams. The colors are a range of purples and very hard to find since their production was limited. Also, only glass made between 1860-1915 will turn purple in the sun. Hobnail didn't appear til the mid 1930s. Fenton French Opalescent does not sun purple.

Correction: French Opalescent does sun- purple. I heard straight from the company. The pieces in that pic that are probably not wisteria are the 4 lighter pieces... the cornucopia, the tall vase, the mini vase, and the cruet. However, a mini vase is listed in the variety of pieces made in wisteria, the one here seems off in color.

...found the oil cruet listed with wisteria also! See... this is so complicated!
