A recent flea market find. the item is not something I would collect but it looked neat and was only priced at $3 bucks. I asked the dealer if that was a mistake and she said no, so I bought it.
This is a Sokkisha KT5 transit. Asked some surveyors if they were familiar with it and thought it was from the late 60's early 70's, still in great shape. Its become a mantique on display in my den. If anyone knows more about this piece, i'm interested in hearing about it.

I gather this is a surveyor's instrument? $3 was a bargain for anything precision made.
To racer4four...yes, I believe it is a surveyors transit,unfortunately no box or tripod.
Just as it is, a great conversation piece for a great price!
