The Ugly Ducklings are still out there and just need a little of your imagination & a couple of gallons of good paint stripper plus hard work! The good news is that several thick coats of old fashioned enamel make for excellent protection of the colors on these old Porcelain signs so that once you get them stripped and clean you find rich original colors like new! The other thing cool is you often have no idea what's under all that paint & you buy a "grab bag" and get a wonderful surprise as you strip it! We have another cool sign spotted that we are trying to buy & have no idea what it actually says? The fun is in the hunt, cause it sure isn't in the stripping! It took me 4-5 days to get the 5 coats of old paint off of this sign. Keep hunting!
I'm getting totally helpless in my ancient age & no matter what I do to these pix I can't get them to appear right side up? Yes I use an IPad & yes I reset them to be right side up like I was taught to do & used to always work but doesn't any more?
I'll say it's a AMOCO sign:)
