My Uncle Hayden in Waycross, Georgia just sent me some old photos and I thought that I would share a few. This is my uncle Dwight (my mother's youngest brother) who grew up in the countryside of Georgia and Florida. He was in the Korean War and returned home, but he would never be the same. He turned to alcohol to solve his problems and to drown his bad memories of the war. He died a lonely, broken man. It is so good to see him young and healthy in this particular moment in time just before his life began to spiral out of control.

Thanks to Scott for info on 7th Infantry Division!

Thanks SEAN..Very sentimental tonight after receiving the photos. He was a really nice person despite his problems.

The hourglass patch on his scarf identifies his unit as the 7th Infantry Division. My father in law served with them in Korea as well.

They were in some of the toughest fighting.

      Thanks for sharing his photos.
