    A Gem Mine in Sri Lanka. I Thought I'd put this on this forum. The area is very close to were the Tsunami was in 2004, in Sri Lanka, there was Approx 60,000 people died in this natural devastation. I will put another posting on this mine.
    The first and second photos are of the winch and pit were people are tunnelling for the gems. The third photo is of a man panning for the stones. The fourth is of the stones that have been mined. There are Amethyst, Moonstones, Citrine, Peridot, Garnets, Black Spinel and Sapphires
