I found this brooch going through some of my late mother's jewerly. It is an art deco brooch containing three garnets or amethysts. In the middle of the rose blossom is another garnet or amethysts, it is small and doesn't show up in the picture. There is a designer or maker's mark on the back of the brooch. I never saw my mother wear it but it is beautiful to me it is about 1.75 inches round. I am going to take it to a jeweler in my neighborhood to see if they can read the designer or maker's mark.

This is a guess based on the design but I think its a VanDell. Let us know what you find out.
All the brooch designer or maker's mark says is it is gold plate, and "Rose" the stones are amethysts the jeweler thought it was also a beautiful piece. I don't know if "Rose" is the maker or refers to the piece. I will have to Google VanDell and see what comes up.
