A charming Nippon vase that I recently found at a second-hand store. I adore the simple shape, the restrained naive 'south-west' decoration and the stylized buck and doe images. It seems so strange for Nippon, in my mind, to find such natural/rustic decoration. ( I will post a pic of the side view showing the triangle tile pattern.) I was worried I might have some sort of fake but I have carefully looked at the mark and researched it as much as I can. I feel the mark is authentic.
I this subject matter very 'masculine' for Nippon. Is it Arts and Crafts? What do you think?

Thanks SEAN68 and racer4four. I'm glad I purchased it. It haunted me for a few days but I finally made the plunge and bought it. I hope someone can tell me a bit more about the unusual subject matter (that is, unusual for Nippon).

This beautiful piece was made by the Morimura Brothers for Noritake in, I believe the 1920’s. It is a rather unusual subject, obviously made for the Western market. Noritake had several companies working for them in the Nagoya area of Japan, and although Nippon translates to mean “Japan”, Nippon collectors focus primarily on pieces from the Noritake family.
