    This biography of "The Great One", by Jim Bishop is quite a revealing work on the life of Jackie Gleason. Published in 1956, it details the first 40 years of Jackie Gleason's life.

    Not a syrupy, gaga biography, this authorized work paints Jackie Gleason as human as any of us…exposing his good and points.

    This is the paperback version, which a friend had given me a while back. It is time for replacement, and I'm checking sources for the hardbound edition.
