During the war on comics in the 50's with the book "Seduction of the innocent", many comic covers were labelled with terms that spoke to the inappropriateness of the scenes depicted, "headlights cover, decapitation cover and the like. One term used was " bondage cover" when describing covers with females bound and menaced by the villain. not so much when a male was bound and in danger. These 4 covers from Mr. Miracle(while dating from the 70's)would have qualified but were never looked at in the same manner.
