I found this set on auction a few years ago,if you look at the close up it shows the handstitching.I have always been told that if the older quilting blocks and tops were not handsewn they really had no value.I had visions of making something fabulous with these blocks but discovered how time consuming it was to quilt by hand.OMG it is so tedious,I guess thats why ladies of old had "quilting bees"You would really need a lot of help if you planned to finish a project in your lifetime.Anyway,I am a real fan of the turkey red and collected all that I could afford.I have many tops in the Irish Chain pattern with the red and muslin and have discovered that making the tops was the easiest part of the project.I am on a quest to find someone to quilt them for me now but I know it's going to be expensive.
