The first time I saw one of these brass tubs was in the movie High Plains Drifter, when C. Eastwood was taken a bath. haha,
Althoug this is much smaller, Anyway,we discovered this in our cellar. The home belonged to my grandparents and we are finding some great items. But what would they have used this for.
I use it for my croqueting supplies and I like looking at it.
Will the value change if i polish it?
Thanks any help will be appreciated >

It's a wash tub for doing your laundry on top of the wood stove. Clean it up if you are going to use it for display, but for resale, many people seem to like the original patina.
Well thank you Dave, So is it brass, or ? I suppose a good brass cleaner would do the trick.
