This is the watch granddaddy won for selling more Champion spark plugs to the dealerships and gas stations in the middle of "The Great Depression" in 1930. My granddad was a "super salesman" and it served him well when he opened his 1st store. He went on to have three stores in two towns (back then you didn't call them cities" Two dept stores and one furniture store. I think that's where I got my salesman genes. Thanks granddaddy. I hope you're looking down and grinning that grin you always had. This particular watch is one he use to let me sit on the carpet and play with when I was like 3 years old and on up to teenager years. I always said to please leave it to me when you die. I can't believe I said such things when I was a little tot, but I did. But you see who he left it to.lol This watch has always kept excellent time and still does today. The only drawback, it has to be wound. But that's OK. If you want to see a pic of my granddad, there is one posted. He's the only old "good looking" guy I have a pic of. I am so glad I have so many of his personal effects. I have his wallet, with all the stuff like D.L and SS card, I have his gold spectacles, his college graduation ring from 1915 (which I will post later) these awards, signs and ads from the stores. Letterhead and many of his books which most date in the 1800's. I could go on and on about his razors, tie tacs, cuff links etc. I think all of it is very special.

Same here. I have always been the one to step up and help others my whole life. No one ever gave me anything either. We appreciate stuff more when we feel we actually earned it. I will say my back is starting to hurt from those I continue to carry. lol But what do they say? Money is only something you need in case you don't die tomorrow. BTW I will go over and read about your house. I've just got a few more things to take pics of tonight and several more to post so I can get all this stuff back to the bank tomorrow. I sure don't want anything here for the weekend.
