German U boat 926 was commissioned in February of 1944. It was a training boat, and was then used as a front boat, but never went on any war patrols. On May 9th, 1945, U 926 surrendered at Bergen Norway. It was most likely at this time this case was liberated. As you see, it is nearly complete with bandages, salves, pills, and whatever else one would find in a first aid kit. In the cover is an inventory of the contents of the box.
