      I absolutely adore this piece..
Is that small holes in the bottom? looks like it to me. ..
    2. tosell50, 9 years ago
Yes it has small hole's in the bottom....I'm with you as soon as I walked by it, it said take me home....lol
But everyone here is afraid of it they think it's voodoo....because I got real sick the night I brought it home, but next day I was fine , I said flu, they said voodoo because I was shaking it and mumbling to scare them ! Still laughing !
I just wished I knew what it was, and when it was made ?
    3. melaniej melaniej, 9 years ago
      explains how it's rattle's......
that's how they inserted what ever is in there
I think it's awesome and very different.
You could use this as a weapon! Bahahahaha!!!
Just warn them you will break out the voodoo pottery head and put a curse on them.

I THINK THEY PUT WHATEVER IS IN THERE BEFORE THEY FIRED IT .BECAUSE THE HEAD LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD COME OFF . BUT BELIEVE ME I HAVE TRIED TO OPEN IT ,BUT IT WAS MADE IN TWO PIECE'S THEN FIRED ON TOP THE BODY.....CURIOSITY IS KILLING ME....LOL !

Love it and I’m also intrigued! There are initials on the back of the neck -SA?
    7. maryh1956 maryh1956, 9 years ago
Oops, I didn’t see you had mentioned the initials.

I’m wondering if they just punched the holes before firing,so that it wouldn’t explode in the kiln, and the pieces of clay were pushed inside and hardened in the kiln, and that’s what is making the noise? I think if it was made as a noise maker or instrument the holes wouldn’t be so random???
