Back when gas was under $.20/gal we got it delivered to our farm by a truck sort of like this one. As I remember it had a better paint job and probably had better tires, four wheels and perhaps even had doors on it?
We actually bought this old truck because we had recentely found a couple of these old fuel delivery tanks and wanted to display them on vintage trucks. Unfortunately this truck is a little rougher than what we had hoped it to be. Life goes on and we will spruce it up little by little as we find the parts. This fuel tank still has the old American stickers on it as well as Standard stickers. Keep on Hunting and the fun is in the Hunt! You can see it and sit in it, if you dare, at aaaLakeside storage in Provo.

Exactly! We really don't restore most of what we display at our museum at aaaLakeside storage as we like things to look pretty much like people remember having seen them many years ago. In those days if they got around d to it, they would just slap a a little paint on with a big paint brush and we're done. This rig is soooo rough and missing so much that we will have to find some parts for it to make it look right. We are having trouble finding any model A collectors on the area? I used to know lots but they are all dying off. I guess I am too, but I'm not digging the grave just yet!

I love the rust, it tells the story.

Isn't it interesting how we love the rust and the patina and dings and dents on old cars, signs and gas pumps, yet tend to ignore the same kids of "markings" on each other as we get old? Whenever I see ole people, which I am one, I wonder what they have been through that has caused their hair to fall out, their vision to dim, their backs to bow and the scars and blemishes on their arms and legs. I find that when asked, many are willing to tell their stories and expose their past with inspiring and sometimes Uplifting experiences of days gone by. Keep on Hunting and you will run in to a few of US. ????
