this ww2 folding shovel was picked up at the bootsale last week, it is marked JAPAN and is in a bit of a rough condition, still works but is a tad rusty...not sure wether it should be rubbed down and repained or left as is, any advise would be appreciated.

If it says 'Japan' like you say the it's a repop, dug a lot of holes with a real one..............they are very hard to destroy but not really worth a lot. Sorry ;-(

By the way it was used by the American forces, not the japanese. that is why I suspect it is a repop.....I'm no military expert but that's what I think......
You know there's a buyer for everything so.........................be great painted up OD Green and in the tool kit of an early military Jeep.
