This Lundberg vase followed me home from the flea market today. My usual rule is to buy the best piece I can find if it is at a good price. Unfortunately, there wasn't any compelling Bohemian glass at the show, but I did rather like this nice little vase by Lundberg Studios. I don't know much about the marking system, but it is signed L.S. 3-8-94 and what looks like some sort of serial number beneath.

This is a beautiful "after hours" piece. Lundberg artists can create their own pieces after the regular work hours. They sign their pieces with L.S., the date, the initial of their name, and a number. They get to keep the proceeds of the sale of these items from a garage storage area at their studios in Davenport, CA. We have Lundberg pieces marked this way and Rebecca Lundberg told us who had made them. I think this piece has the letter "A". I can't tell what the first letter or number is. It was probably made by one of the Aguirre's -- father is Venascio and the son is Alejandro.

Correction, the father's name is Venancio Aguirre. He probably made this piece since his son started as an apprentice in the 1990's.
