Husband inherited this from his Great Grandfather, who received it as a retirement gift near the turn of the century. Hoping to find its maker?

Looks to be a Herschede Model 320 Colonial from circa 1930. If so, it should measure 87" x 20 1/2" x 14 3/4". If you get the Serial Number off of the back of the movement you can usually determine the year of manufacture. See this link for some history on the Herschede Clock Company http://www.champsclock.com/herschedeinfo.htm#history
Hope that solves your mystery. If not, ask away. If so, please indicate "Mystery Solved" in your listing. Thanks for sharing your heirloom.

It is a beauty. Amazing what they gave as retirement gifts back then. Lucky today if you get a pizza and a handshake.
