I have this doll by Famous Artists Synd. I think it is Little Orphan Annie Her body is completely cloth with movable arms and legs. Her dress and panties seems to be original (although not red). I haven't seen one like her. All the ones I've seen have the composition arms as well. Mine is all cloth and not in a red dress. If this is not original dress, then it is definitely a vintage dress that was made back then because it is old fabric and old style stitching that is aged appropriately and fits perfectly. I'm having a difficult time dating this and want to know if it is annie? I purchased this back in the 80's at a little antique shop. I can't imagine I paid a lot for it... I was only 12.

      Hi
First off I believe your doll has had restoration on her face and hair repainted as hair color would have been airbrushed and not so thick covering of paint . Her head also seems to have been put on another body . The back of her shoulder plate does not lay flat against body suggesting the body used was not quite as wide as original . This is not uncommon to find as little girls often bathed their dolls and bodies and paint wore out . She is still wonderful Little Orphan Annie and in my opinion has just been altered . The body she has I have seen on many mask face type dolls and often their faces were crushed because they were made of celluloid .

I knew I had seen that body and a quick search and look :) same dress even . This is the body your head was put on .
