I'm not sure of this lamps history but it's quite large. The shade is 14" wide and 8" high.
The length of the ornate extension measures 16" with 3 extensions showing on the lamp. However there is another set of extensions which belong to this lamp but I don't have the room to put them on.
When all the extensions are on this lamp, then the lamp will hang approximately 52" from the ceiling. And the Center counter weight will allow the lamp to be moved up or down.
I have no idea where to look for a stamp or signature and I don't even know if I'm calling it by the right definition.
So if anyone can offer suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi, apparently I am allowed to ask others on this form how much they think my lamp might be worth on the market.
So please give your suggestions as I do want to put it up for sale.

Hi Jeannette! It's a very ornate and beautiful hanging lamp or as some people call them "Library" lamps. Sometimes, the metal components of the lamps are marked or the thumbwhell or the filler cap but often there is only a set of numbers. Many companies made these lamps and sometimes parts were interchanged. I love the brass frame on this one, especially the intricate swallows on the lower petticoat. This lamp would date from the 1870's-1880's based on the Eastlake style/look on the ceiling attachment.
