Came across this on one of my remodel projects in San Francisco off of Pacific & Green Street.looks like Rosa red stained glass with octagon shaped panels. copper or brass trim looks soldered., its just under 10 inches height and width., seems to be only one opening.have had hard time trying to figure out what this is though I did see a green 1 on these show and tell add saying it's a tealight holder of some sort

I was thinking some sort of light cover but how it would sit I wasn't sure.

Whether it has a door on the bottom or not, it's a tea light holder. Yours would sit, not hang. It was probably made in India. The metal is brass. It's probably from the '70s. They also made similar boxes back then. There would be no opening; there'd be a hinge, and the top half would lift up. I have one of those. They made lots of brass and glass boxes then. I have one other box; I used to have more, in other shapes.
