I found a bunch of really amazingly beautiful, hand-formed pottery pieces at Goodwill in Oakland. This is one of them. does anyone recognize the signature on this one?

thanks melaniej! this is one of my favorites too. it took incredible skill to match up the top to the bottom of this piece. plus this piece is just so perfect - color, shape, thickness - really beautifully done!

it seems like this one should be recognizable. the mark is very clear and the skill w/ which it was made and uniqueness of the design is very strong.

Could it be "CCG" or "CEG"

yes, melaniej, i think it is a CCJ or CEJ. it looks a lot like the signature for University City Pottery.

Now I will have to look up University City Pottery and educate myself ;)
