This is a Gouda Regina Avisa Vase. It has a peacock on either side but I have recently seen one with only one peacock. When my grandparents got engaged in 1932 they received a similar kind of vase which my mother inherited. Hers is a bit smaller and there's no peacock, only flowers. I will add a picture of this vase as soon as possible.

It's beautiful! Do you have any tips regarding how to date these vases? I see Gouda vases quite often here in Denmark, but I don't know what to look for...

I was told my vase was produced in 1925, but the only thing I can find on dating Regina Gouda are design periods. It seems that my vase was produced somewhere between 1920 and 1930, because it has a matt finish. Dating an item with a glossy finish is even harder: these items were produced between 1917 and 1930.
The mark you can see with the script style of the word 'Regina' was used for items from circa 1945 to 1979. Decor 'Avisa' was only produced in circa 1955.

Regina did not date their pieces. They had different backstamps from the period 1916 to closure in 1979. It is quite impossible to give you all the variations here. Look at http://www.goudadesign.co.uk or the Regina Collectors website for all the variations. Or purchase the book Kunstaardewerkfabriek Regina by Joop Nobel. Information on this book can be found on the Gouda-Design website or search for it on Google. Note - some Regina decors were produced for over 50 years. Even after Regina closed, the company that bought them out still made some of the same decors and their backstamps are almost identical. Confusing isn't it!
