For many years this vase, in the UK at least, was mistakenly believed to be Czech. It's now attributed to Eryka Drost who with her husband Jan Drost designed glass for the Zabkowice Glass Works of Poland. It is exceedingly well made. Their work is becoming better known and deservedly so.

From the colour I guess it's from the 60's or 70's. Correction and/or more information are welcome.

Wow,how nice to meet familiar shape!
Jan Sylwester Drost started his work for HSG Zabkowice in 1960,and his wife in 1966,so your dating is right.

I thought you might enjoy seeing it here, Ivonne. It was once a very popular vase in the UK. Whitefriars used grey (very trendy) in the 60's and 70's too. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Me too, just learning! It did always seem a little different from the rest and now we know why! Yours is gorgeous and there were more delights on the internet.

Lovely vase Peggy! The handles makes the piece!

Hi Rick, yes, without the 'handles' it would have been a beaker!! It was made in a two part mould and the joins run down the outside of the handles.....quite difficult to imagine the shape of the two parts.:-)

Thank you, SEAN. I love this type of glass where the manufacturing process is simple so any beauty comes from the designer's imagination.
