Am trying to get some information on what I have. Purchased many years back and was told it was an Optician's Table from an old local Drug Store (ca. early 20th century). Have a picture of the table in the store. But can't locate any further info online.

Table base is cast iron, as are swinging supports for wood top stools (4 total). Base and bottom frame of top are wood while hinged case is all glass.

Top size is 24 1/2" square, height is 32" and depth of display area is 5". Stool seats are 12" in diameter.

    ?????

I have seen similar base's with swing out stools that were from Soda Fountains but they had marble tops. Most turn of the century Drug Stores had Soda Fountains. Doing a quick internet search I came up with a couple comparables.

I do love this design. I have not seen one like this, which would probably mean a custom designed display case. This is an attractive obviously made for viewing of something important maybe glasses, or jewelry for jewelers showcase. Either way I absolutely love this piece. Justmyopinion, Michelle DuBois
