This doll's name is Rita by Paris Doll company. A few years ago you could get Rita's for a good price and little was known about her. She comes in 28" and 24" sizes. My favorites are the 28" size shown to the left. They are seldom marked so to know you have a Rita is to look at her chubby dimpled knees. You can also tell by the shape of her cheeks. As you can see here the 24" have the same cheeks but the slimmer neck.
Many people confuse them the Saucy walker because so many have the braids. Once you see a real Rita you will never confuse the two. Saucy for one thing have the side glancing eyes.
Rita was soon to have a name for herself without the help of all the doll books out there. She is a beauty and not to be ignored. Now a minty Rita is harder to get. My Rita to the left I got on Ebay and her outfit head to toe was an exchange gift on the Doll board from another Rita collector.
You may also find Carol walker that is 25", and an earlier Paris walker made of composition called Peggy.

simply WOW
Never heard of her before but do love her now especially the larger Rita.
They are wonderful dolls and only second to my Terry Lee's!
I had a Rita Doll with long blonde braids....she sat on my bed. I am 63 years old and my mom just told me that she was a walking doll. I have memories that she had teeth too!
Supposedly there was a "doll hospital" for the rita dolls
