I purchased this cast iron truck at a rummage sale recently. It is marked Arcade on the bottom, and Freeport, Ill. I don't know much about these, and have never collected them. I was hoping someone could tell me approximately what year it is from and possibly what it's worth? I am thinking it is from the 1920's to 1930's? Thanks.

There are a lot of these on E-Bay, prices range from $3.00 to $300.00 or more.
You could also look for arcade toys on the net, there is a lot there and your library may have a copy of the book written about them.

Does anyone know how to tell if this truck is an original or a reproduction?

By picture? I think it would be difficult...................

This one is a Model A. I believe this one is authentic, mainly because of the way the wheels connect to the axels. It also appears the truck was cast in 2 pieces with a seam down the middle, which would also indicate authenticity. If it were a reproduction, I believe the piece would also probably not have a driver, and if it did the driver would look different. But, Pop_abides is right, it is pretty tough to be sure by picture. Yours is in pretty good collector-quality condition, but the value is all over the map on these. A perfect, mint condition piece could easily bring $1,100 or more. I've also seen totally rusted and roached out pieces similar to this bring $50 or less. Depending on the weather any given day....... I would say yours is a $200 item if it is authentic.
