I think this is a military monocular , marked as in pics , looks like it's been well used , has lines inside the scope I think for maybe marking the target ?? I would of thought ww11 but may be older ..
I also have a pair of binoculars with similar lines in the scope ..
    Any information welcome :-)
    Thanks for looking ...

The lines must have been to impress the user since it takes a binocular to be a range finder. LOL!

It has a vintage Carl Zeiss look to it? While it may or may not be an old range finder, it sure looks to be in the same family. Nice!

After some more research, and thought, I think you have an "Aiming Monocular", that would have been used on a Search light, ETC. Probably in WW1, and or WW2.

Kind of makes sense frisco, but would expect a mount when this looks for being hand held.

That explains a lot fresco. Now, are there mounting brackets or holds for mounting it stationary to something?
    17. frisco frisco, 9 years ago
If you look real close at picture #1, you can see what might have been where the mount was at one time. Notice the paint discoloration, and the 2 light colored strips, that looks like the mount location in the pictured links. I don't know for sure, but they could have been cut off and filed smooth??????? Just my 2 cents worth!

Guess we have to wait on surf to answer this question.
