This Doll was given to me from my late Mother when I was young. I never asked her questions about this doll just kept it in my collections. I am looking for any information anyone may have on this unique doll. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks-in-advance.

You will definitely need to post a larger picture, please :)

I didn't realize it was so small and uploaded the larger images. I really don't want to open the box to check for markings on the doll itself because I never opened it because of damaging the fragile box to begin with :) It does look like whomever had it before may have taped the front plastic cover. I'm hesitant to touch it. lol but I guess I may have to if nobody recognizes the doll. There is nothing on the back cover and that is why I didn't post any pictures of the sides or back. The company stickers are on the box and I searched and didn't find anything. I'm hoping one of you (professionals) may be able to identify the doll.

Again, thanks so much for looking and I welcome any comments that may help.

What does the cover say? Hard to read on my screen.

From the label up in the corner, this doll may have been given to your mother as a souvenir to an event she may have been part of, or attended, a wedding, perhaps. There are experts here who may be able to tell you more about the doll itself, I just wanted to comment that it is a Mexican tradition to give an elaborate doll to girls on their fifteenth birthday. Souvenir dolls like these are collectible.

It looks like those Dolls that where put on your bed after it was made up all nice and neat. There was also ones you put on your couch too.

Not sure what they were called ? * Bed Dolls* ?

Something like this is what I am thinking of:

Thank you so much for all the info so far. My Mother grew up in New Hampshire and spoke French and married my father which is German. Lol if that helps. She had a note in the box which this box is that stated it was from the 30s. But I'm again not sure if it was possibly a note just misplaced. I've had it stored along with my other dolls she gave to me growing up.

and I'm starting to wonder if the doll was just put in that box for safe keeping. I looked up the company and it seemed to be a crystal (glassware) company in New York in the 20s. Uhmmmm. THANK YOU for all the above comments...and I'm hoping to continue receiving them...

this was my family's business, started in the 1950's I guess. Hand engraved glassware, bridal accessories. We made a lot of these.
