I am not sure what type of bowl this is and who the maker is. I am very curious to find out. It looks like crystal but not quite sure. I tried looking online to see if I could find a match and the only one that I came close to as the maker is Mikasa. Any info would be awesome. Thank you.

Lovely bowl - does it ring like crystal?
I don't think it is Mikasa or any of the other Japanese crystal makers.
Mikasa (and Hoya) did do a pattern similar to this but the shape and the base are not quite the same.

I'm wondering if it is German? Maybe Walther?

I'm stalking TallCakes, lol. :) I had a feeling he would call it Mikasa, that's what it looked like to me. :)

you're very welcome. Racer is correct also, in that this pattern was made by Walther for Mikasa (according by listings in original box).

BTW, Mikasa is an American company (currently a division of Lifetime Brands) that started as an importer and expanded to dinnerware wholesaler...

      Tallcakes is a guru! Truly.

Yeah Mikasa had glassware made by Hoya and Walther, and eventually they bought a major share (I believe) in Walther and stopped using Hoya as a source in the 90s.
I'm sure TC knows the real story!

You are both wise in the ways of glass. :)
