Any help to identify this button would be greatly appreciated

    Button details
Appears brass or copper-like in color
crown over 3 fleur de lis symbols
    19mm (3/4 inch)
Appears very light and hollow so in guessing it is a 2 piece.

    History details
Found while metal detecting in Southwest New Hampshire
The site was once Camp Brooks a military camp where New England volunteers rallied before heading to assist the war effort in Virginia.
Of this bunch was the famous Bully Six also know as the 6th regiment.

That is all I know and will answer any questions that I can.
Thanks in advance for letting me share my history mystery

Did they have French volunteers? The Fleur-de-lis is a French symbol. Wiki has a similar coat of arms and its described as French anciene.

The old camp where I dug it was a rally camp for many new England states including Canada If I'm not mistaken..maybe a French Canadian volunteer blazer button.. not sure but I can't wait to find out and then research how it got there..history is so interesting and so confusing at the same time

Since you are talking about the Amer. "Civil" War, I am unaware of any French being involved & think the button goes back further than that. Maybe French & Indian or Revolutionary War.

Looking into the symbols on the button,
      Crown resembles Prussian crown
3 fleur de lis represents French coat of arms.
I have emailed several experts and they are stumped

Well, the French & Allemand never got along, so that's odd.
