    need to know origin of this powder flask.
    no found maker's marks or ID
    leather bound brass body with folding spout
    missing an apparent locking device for when folded down.

      Never seen one with a folding spout. Wondering if you hold a finger over the inverted spout & folding it cuts off 1 charge to pour in the muzzle?

      yes,
      It would appear that was the way it was intended to be used.
      powder source is cut off when folded down.
      That is why there was a locking device to keep it from opening from what I can see.
      I believe it is of European sourcing, but, just not sure.
