Could be I-tal-yan, but has that French look.

Wow I'm getting nostalgia here! I'm looking for info on this phone too. My parents bought this phone back in like 1992-93. It was more for looks to give off a fancy vibe lol. Im looking to buy one for my man cave. All I can remember of it is my little brother(2 at the time) knocking it over so many times to where it wouldn't work anymore. It had a very loud ring also. Wish I could tell you more about it but I was 8 at the time.

I own one of these that I bought in a vintage shop. It is a Replica of a French Sultan Rotary Phone with Pedestal. It is an eye catcher to put in your living room, but I am afraid it is not as valuable as it may look. MANY of these replicas were made and sold for about $50 each. When I went to buy it (about 10 years ago) there was a second hand one in the room and since it was a returned item they sold it to me for $20. It might be a little bit harder to find now and therefore more expensive, but honestly please don't buy it for more than $80-$100. It is not worth more than that and this will NOT increase in value over time. It is antique looking, not a real antique.

Help! I am looking for just this item for Christmas and have no idea how to search. There are a couple on eBay, overpriced according to RosieNash. There was one in a resale store that my 15 year old friend fell in love with ($50) but it's been sold. I collect Fiestaware so this is out of my area of knowledge. Any suggestions on finding one? Thank you!

@Katiesmama The ones on Ebay are over priced for sure. I don't know why they think they can sell it for that price. My suggestion would be to contact the seller on Ebay and offer $100. Maybe you'll get lucky and they will agree; especially if no one has been bidding on it. My other suggestion is if the only reason you want this phone is because your 15 year old friend likes it, then maybe you can find one similar to it that is more reasonably priced. I saw some similar looking phones and items on Ebay that are in the $100 range.
If your heart is set on buying that exact phone and you are considering paying the very overpriced amount that they are asking on Ebay, I would advise that you keep in mind that this is a replica. It is not an antique item. There would be a very good chance that the phone part does not even work anymore (if that is even important to your friend). You would be paying a lot more than it is worth. But then again, you can't really put a price on someone's happiness; so if she wants this phone, and only this phone, then maybe buying it for that expensive amount is worth it for you. Good luck with whichever decision you make :-) ... (But I really would shop around for something similar if I were you. You'd be surprised by all the great finds out there.)

I have the exact phone as shown, only difference is it has a pen holder and mine is certainly not clean and shiny as the one shown. I got it about 25 years ago when looking after a second hand shop. It has no markings I can find and the bottom is covered in with a plate that holds the phone inner connections. After seeing such a shiny one I may clean it. Mine sits in a corner and is used mainly to hold iPad and mobile while charging.
