      Is it 1959 with the last 9 backwards? Just to clarify

      It appears to be just a 1958 D-mint penny which has seen its worst of wear. Copper is a softer material and raised portions can easily be damaged or "nicked" off.

      Ahhh Ok, I can see that. The two 9s are different enough that the second wouldn't be. Perhaps.
