This is one of my recent additions to my collection to German porcelain. The plate has two handles and is signed by the artist/decorator. It also has a stamp saying that it is hand painted.
The back stamp shows a crown with the letters PSAG and underneath Bavaria.

Just some selected facts from the history of the company:

The company was founded in 1879 by Johann Nicol Mueller in Schoenwald. In 1898 it was converted to the Aktiengesellschaft Porzellanfabrik Schoenwald and then, in 1927, it was acquired by Porzellanfabrik Kahla/Thueringen. Although I could not find information about the date of the back stamp yet, I assume that the acronym PSAG (Porzellanfabrik Schoenwald AktienGesellschaft) means that my plate was made any time during this period. Schoenwald is still in operation today and produces mostly commercial porcelain for hotels, restaurants, etc.

    Thanks for looking:)

I'm no good at flower ID, either. Is this a magnolia or a gardenia?

      Pretty plate!
The flowers seem to be a kind of wild roses, see the thorns!

Oh dear, I don't know either. I saw the same plate somewhere on the Internent and they said that the floweres were peony. I am not good at naming flowers so I said to myself: peony it is:) I would love to find out what they really are.

I'm wondering if you've found out more since y years ago? I found this platform in search of info for this exact plate. The only difference in mine is that the stamp is red, it is numbered 61 in blue and also has one hard brush mark of red.
