Just started collecting and learning about vintage costume jewelry. Saw this little guy at a local flea market and he just HAD to come home with me!
I've been researching him last couple days and all I can find is the brooch in this design. All the marks look correct, I just can't find any more info on it. Anyone know what year these came out? I looked through all of the trifari pages and can't seem to come up with anything.

Update, I think I figured out the year. Just picked up a copy of "Costume Jewelry 202" by Julia Carroll and with the hanging stylized T tag (seen in photo) along with "trifari" with solid crown and copyright symbol, I think this is 1954. My next question is rarity...has anyone who has been collecting for a while seen very many of these? Thanks!
(Hope this photo is a little better, I'm a little shaky and have a hard time getting a decent pic.)

OK, this guy has been up for a while and apparently he's the only one of his kind. I'm no longer concerned with rarity or value, he's the first thing that drew me to collecting costume jewelry and he's not even really to my taste. I do love training dogs and maybe that's what the draw was. More into art deco and beautiful forms with functional style. He is heavy and unique and now he's my new mascot for "rescued treasures" Shelter pit mixes who will blow out the stereotypes by becoming the best companion/search&rescue/best buddies ever type puppies.
