This is a surveyors compass,this is another item that is being reproduced but I think this is an original,there's no markings on it and the only close matches that I've seen are the reproductions so I don't know for sure.

I have an original from Army Corp of Engineers WW2 looks similar to this in that the components are the same.
Is yours marked at all?This one has no markings what so ever.
