This was another save from the market. It has a lovely translucence, gold smudges inadvertently between the blue flowers and around the rim. The Mark on base says "Doulton's" with what appears to be a champagne glass on its side (!) and the number 1 imprinted into it. I have tried to locate the mark however doesn't appear on any website or any book that I have read. I would appreciate any leads of information from collectors. Hope you like it.

vetraio50, I followed up both the website and the availability of "Royal Doulton Series Ware Volume 3, by Louise Irvine as you advised. I scoured the local library and extended request to all of South Eastern Victoria. No library had the book. I sent an email request to State Library of Victoria and today received a reply saying the book is not available in any state library in Australia except The State Library of WA. I sent off a request for viewing options today to the librarian. It may take a few days before I know any more. Cheers Lynette.

Hi vetraio50, an update on my ongoing quest to locate, access and view "Royal Doulton Series Ware Volume 3, by Louise Irvine ! LOL.
I have a response from State Library WA that the book is available for me to borrow. My local library has followed through for me an put a request in for it to be sent to my library in Victoria. It should take about six weeks to arrive. To be continued .....

So the little book "Royal Doulton Series Ware Volume 3, by Louise Irvine" has arrived at my library in Victoria and I picked up yesterday. The book is the only one available through a library in Australia, it travelled 3,465.4 kilometres from Perth WA and took a couple of weeks. JOY .. I can now define my lovely DOULTON vase mark on base. ALAS ... it doesn't mention my vase mark but has a lot of nursery series instead. :(( Off it goes, back 3,465.4 kilometres to the other side of Australia. It will be a well travelled little book! I also checked the http://www.thepotteries.org. The closest mark is Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, c 1882+. Back to the drawing board !
