    I found this carved mahogany panel - about 14 inches long - at Urban Ore in Berkeley last wk. It was painted an ugly white color and i'd like to paint it red w/ gold leaf, but i need to study up on what paints and gold leaf to use. i think it's asian - maybe Chinese or Japanese. Not sure though. it looks like Honduran mahogany.
