This is a finely carved figure of an Asian child snoozing, he is defiantly a he as his little friend is sticking out , he is 3 1/2" L x 2" h and is made from a heavy hard wood ebony or lignum ??
The rock or pillow he's laying on has designs of matchstick people in different motions as in pics ..
I would think Chinese / Japanese , an awesome little fellow!!

OH! My goodness "his little friend"-- I guess for a touch of humor... (Obviously will work.) My daughter Linda has a similar looking little guy in her kitchen (same size and color--but different position ( in her windowsill, for years )but not in the sun. She said it is for "luck". Maybe he is a Baby Budah?
